Theory – Vibratory Tools

The XRV Plus is a downhole vibratory tool that operates with NO moving parts but greatly enhances operations in horizontal well bores. The tool functions by utilizing a specialized fluid path to create a varying flow resistance. This resistance to flow acts much like the opening and closing of a valve. This valve like action creates an oscillating hydraulic load that acts on the drill string. The drillstring lengthens and returns with each cycle of the oscillating hydraulic load. This additional axial movement of pipe helps to break static friction between the drillstring and the well bore, enhancing drilling operations.
