Perforating
Theory – Perforating
Open-Hole Perforating is the process of creating perforations in an open-hole section of the well to benefit future stimulation operations such as hydraulic fracturing. These perforations are strategically located to create initiation points for induced fractures that will provide the optimum results. Additionally, open-hole perforating reduces the formation breakdown pressures, which results in requiring less time and fluid during the hydraulic fracturing operation.
